I am a long-time student and taxpayer advocate in the Capistrano Unified School District. I started advocating in 2010 when I was a PTA Executive Board Member, and Legislative Representative for Las Palmas Elementary School.

I received my BS in Civil Engineering from Tulane University, and went on to get a JD from the University of San Diego School of Law specializing in Contract Law and Business Litigation.

I am lifelong entrepreneur founding Urbanek Inc, a worldwide bicycle apparel manufacturing company while in law school and into the mid 1990's. I then went on to consult with other apparel companies and write articles about design, fit and function for major lifestyle and cycling publications.

After the birth of my first child I left the cycling industry to stay at home. Shortly thereafter, I started Wild Child Water Play, a learn to swim program offered through the City of Laguna Niguel that teaches children to swim through songs, games and interactive play.

I have one child that just graduated college, and one child that is a freshmen in college. I remain a staunch advocate for all students; and I am comitted to ensure that the State of California meets its Constitutional obligation to provide equality of educational opportunity to every student.

"Education is a fundamental right that belongs to all, not some of California students."
