PART ONE CUSDWatch published an article entitled: CUSD spent $10 million on 6/5th teaching positions- The Public deserves an audit. The picture would not be complete without showing the compensation and job description for each 6th/5th teacher. The data shows that CUSD teachers; across the board, have received compensation increases of $31,000 to $74,000 over the past four years. CUSDWatch will continue to publish this data over a period of time until it is complete. at page 9 of the Contract:
"5.11 The District shall have the option to offer to teachers assigned to teach at the 6-12 level the opportunity to volunteer to accept a continuing regular assignment of a sixth teaching period daily. Teachers who accept a continuing regular assignment of a daily sixth period shall be compensated at one-fifth 1/5th of their regular daily rate of 185 days in addition to their regular compensation.
