NOTE: October 30, 2017 Trustee Reardon has clarified that extra compensation is for hourly instructional aids that accompany severely handicapped students who must ride the bus.  The children cannot be left unsupervised and the drivers are not expected to deal with their special conditions.  The traffic is outside our control.

Teachers are threatening to STRIKE!

CUSD and teachers are in Fact Finding due to a lack of adequate funding from the State. This comes after four years of across the board compensation increases for all employees totaling over $120 million, while students are denied their fundamental right to:

Core Educational Programs that align with minimum State Content Standards and Curriculum Frameworks (CUSD students have no Art- Music- Science; and now PE, unless parents fundraise for it.)

Beneficial Pupil Teacher Ratios and class sizes. (Class sizes are to large and staff to student ratios are not safe).
